SUNSHINE UPDATES

Performing Arts

We have an exciting term of fun-filled learning ahead in Performing Arts, with a strong focus on creativity, movement and collaboration as we begin our Dance Units.

In Term 4 all students will participate in dance sessions. Each year level will be exploring dance in unique and engaging ways:

  • Year 1 and 2 learners will discover and perform traditional group dances from various cultures around the world. These dances will help them build coordination, rhythm and an appreciation for cultural diversity through movement.
  • Year 3 and 4 students will take a more creative approach by learning a variety of dance moves and transitions, which they will then use to choreograph their own routines. This unit encourages teamwork, self-expression and an understanding of how movement can be structured into performance.
  • Year 5 and 6 students will take on a fun and challenging task: creating a dance routine using three chosen props. Working in small groups, they will explore how props can enhance performance, add visual interest, and require careful coordination and planning in choreography.

We look forward to seeing the energy, creativity, and teamwork students will bring to the dance floor this term!

Prep Transition Program - Playgroup is back in Term 4!

Sunshine Discovery Playgroup T4 sz.jpg

Get your little Sunshiners ready for school with our Sunshine Playgroup! This program is designed for young children (3 and 4 year old) and their families to explore, play and learn together in a friendly, supportive environment.

Attending playgroup is a wonderful way to help your child develop confidence, independence and social skills before starting Prep. These early experiences make the transition to school smoother and more enjoyable for both children and parents.

Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out. Join us and give your child the best start to school life! Registration is essential.

Looking ahead to 2026

As we prepare for 2026, please let the office know if your family will be leaving at the end of this year, for whatever reason, including for extended travel. If you have a child starting Prep next year, please get in touch soon to begin enrolment. Your early advice helps us plan the best possible classes and staffing for the year ahead.
