SUNSHINE HIGHLIGHTS
A slice of Italian learning in Year 4

Year 4 students had a delicious pizza day, creating their own Pizza Margherita from scratch! This hands-on activity tied into their Italian language and culture lessons, helping them practise teamwork, follow instructions in Italian and explore ingredients. This culminating experience tied perfectly with last term's procedural text focus for Italian.
A big grazie to our Italian captains in Year 6: Charlotte, Nesta and Kobe and to Samanta, Arianna, and Andrea the pizzaiolo for sharing their skills. Experiences like this make learning fun, memorable, and full of flavour!
Drawing up big ideas at the beach!

Last week, 3/4JS enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Ed Webb Park as part of their English unit. Students had the opportunity to sketch designs for facilities they will later present to the council. It was a beautiful summer’s day, perfect for creativity and teamwork. The morning finished with some sandcastle fun at the beach, making it a day full of learning, collaboration, and enjoyment in the sunshine.
Prep Transition Program - Prep Fusion – a taste of Italy was so much fun!

Thank you to the families who joined our Prep Fusion: A Taste of Italy session. From fun outside, music and Italian with Silvia, it was a great morning of movement and learning.
These sessions are an important step in helping our 2026 Preps feel confident and connected before their first day. We can’t wait to welcome you back for Storytime in a Prep Classroom on Monday 16 September, 9:30–10:30 am.
Welcoming our international friends

We’ve loved welcoming friends from Italy, China, and Japan this term! Together, they’re learning, sharing, and celebrating cultures from around the world. Our Sunshiners have enjoyed making new friends, exploring different languages, and discovering traditions from their classmates’ home countries. It’s been wonderful to see curiosity, collaboration, and cultural appreciation thriving in our classrooms.
