PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Year 4 incursions

Our Year 4 students had two wonderful opportunities last week, with their Italian Pizza Day incursion and Bike On sessions. The students were all smiling and thoroughly enjoyed not only making a delicious wood-fired pizza, but also getting active during their Bike On sessions. Thank you to our teaching teams for organising such engaging and enriching learning opportunities.

District Athletics

Congratulations to all of our Sunshiners who represented our school at District Athletics. They all gave their best and displayed excellent sportsmanship. Well done Sunshiners!

Upcoming Events

2025 Sunshine Spectacular sz.jpg

We have 3 important events coming up over the course of this term. Our 2025 Sunshine Spectacular is almost here! Please join us on Thursday14 August, between 8.45 and 10.20am. Students have been working hard rehearsing and there will be performances by the Junior & Senior strings students, Concert Band, Junior & Senior dance group, Drama Club and Sunshine Singers. It will be a wonderful event and I’m looking forward to seeing our students shine on stage.

Book_Week_2025_sz_.jpg

Book Week is fast approaching, so start thinking about those costumes! Book Week runs from the 16 – 23 August and this year’s theme is Book an Adventure. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Children Book Council of Australia’s annual Book Week celebrations. Our students are invited to dress up as a book character on Friday 22 August for our whole school Book Week Parade at 8:45-9:45am. To ensure fun outside play throughout the day, please keep clothing sunsafe, pack hats and wear shoes.

Student Led Conferences will be held in the last week of term, on Monday and Thursday. Booking links and information from your child’s class teacher will be sent out soon. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity for your child to showcase their work, sharing their learning progress, challenges, goals and bookwork for the year so far. The classroom teacher will also be providing feedback about your child’s progress. All families are highly encouraged to attend.

2026 Movement

It is that time of the year when we start to look at staffing for 2026 and it is extremely important that we have accurate enrolment numbers to ensure we are appropriately staffed. Planning begins very early for schools and we are already working with HR to ensure a successful transition to 2026.

Please advise the school office as soon as possible if you are planning on leaving our school at the end of the school year for any reason (including extended travel). Likewise, if you have a child that is eligible for Prep next year and wish to enrol at our school, please contact the office as soon as possible to ensure the enrolment process begins.
